NPD Group Announces Winners of First Consumer Choice Awards

The NPD Group Inc. surveyed women across the country to find out which prestige beauty brands have the most buzz.  These awards complement NPD’s point-of-sale information, the gold standard for the beauty industry’s best sellers. In its first ever consumer choice awards, NPD announces the winners of the hottest prestige beauty brands rated by women. The results:

Hottest Prestige Fragrance Company
Estée Lauder
 
Hottest Prestige Makeup Brand
Bare Escentuals
 
Hottest Prestige Skincare Brand
La Mer
 
Best Prestige Beauty Service at Retail
Nordstrom
 
“With more than ten years of retail sales information on the prestige beauty industry we know who’s selling the most, but these awards represent the consumer’s perspective. NPD has the unique ability to go directly to women and find out who they think the hottest prestige brands are, the ones they think of as “in vogue,” said Diane Nicholson, president of NPD’s beauty group.

NPD utilized its online panel of 1.3 million members and went out to a nationally representative sample of women 18 years and older. Responses were weighted based on brand distribution ensuring that all brands received equal consideration. The ending sample of women was 600.
